Subvera for good health

Interstellar? You have 2 b intelligent FIRST!

Similar to 'Gravity' but with a much heavier twist to rocket science. I am interested in astronomy. However, with a heavy cocktail of relativity and physics theories, I am definitely lost... As a fashion professional, fashionably, again, it is similar to 'Gravity'. In conclusion, despite of all the media hype, handsomely appearing on the cover of 10 NOV 2014, TIME magazine issue and one of the best cast lineup, you have to be a very least a NOVICE rocket science enthusiast to qualify to watch it! Publicity certainly sold this movie and I am a victim!

These scene reminds me. As a kid, I always look at the night sky in amazement, hope and now for inspiration. *Twinkle, twinkle little star...*

In this scene, Copper reminds me of the similar role my uncle played in my childhood... Awww....

I think they are the almost perfect combination for this J!

Super Lash Tips

I professionally DO NOT recommend these. However, occasionally they should be fine. Listed below are some tips for those effects that you desire:

1)      Use individual clusters of lashes. They are easier to apply than full strips.

2)      Fake lashes do not have the same curve as natural ones. Bend them around a pencil before applying.

3)      Curl your own with an eyelash curler.

4)      Line your fake lashes with adhesive and wave them around until they are tacky – they stay on better once they have dried a little.

5)      Coat all lashes with water proof mascara to bind them.

Now, you can lash out...Whiuop...

Bad Food for Dogs...Woof!

I am ordering a fresh fruit cake for Sandy's Second Birthday. I research ingredients that can be included. I hope my results below helps:

Q. Which foods could be dangerous for my dog?
A.
A photo of various foods dogs should not eatSome foods which are edible for humans, and even other species of animals, can pose hazards for dogs because of their different metabolism. Some may cause only mild digestive upsets, whereas, others can cause severe illness, and even death. The following common food items should not be fed (intentionally or unintentionally) to dogs. This list is, of course, incomplete because we can not possibly list everything your dog should not eat.

Items to avoid Reasons to avoid
Alcoholic beverages Can cause intoxication, coma, and death.
Avocado The leaves, seeds, fruit, and bark contain persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
Bones from fish, poultry, or other meat sources Can cause obstruction or laceration of the digestive system.
Cat food Generally too high in protein and fats.
Chocolate, coffee, tea, and other caffeine Contain caffeine, theobromine, or theophylline, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea and be toxic to the heart and nervous systems.
Citrus oil extracts Can cause vomiting.
Fat trimmings Can cause pancreatitis.
Fish (raw, canned or cooked) If fed exclusively or in high amounts can result in a thiamine (a B vitamin) deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizures, and in severe cases, death.
Grapes, raisins and currants Contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys. There have been no problems associated with grape seed extract.
Hops Unknown compound causes panting, increased heart rate, elevated temperature, seizures, and death.
Human vitamin supplements containing iron Can damage the lining of the digestive system and be toxic to the other organs including the liver and kidneys.
Macadamia nuts Contain an unknown toxin, which can affect the digestive and nervous systems and muscle.
Marijuana Can depress the nervous system, cause vomiting, and changes in the heart rate.
Milk and other dairy products Some adult dogs and cats may develop diarrhea if given large amounts of dairy products.
Moldy or spoiled food, garbage Can contain multiple toxins causing vomiting and diarrhea and can also affect other organs.
Mushrooms Can contain toxins, which may affect multiple systems in the body, cause shock, and result in death.
Onions and garlic (raw, cooked, or powder) Contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are more susceptible than dogs. Garlic is less toxic than onions.
Persimmons Seeds can cause intestinal obstruction and enteritis.
Pits from peaches and plums Can cause obstruction of the digestive tract.
Raw eggs Contain an enzyme called avidin, which decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin). This can lead to skin and hair coat problems. Raw eggs may also contain Salmonella.
Raw meat May contain bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea.*
Rhubarb leaves Contain oxalates, which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems.
Salt If eaten in large quantities it may lead to electrolyte imbalances.
String Can become trapped in the digestive system; called a "string foreign body."
Sugary foods Can lead to obesity, dental problems, and possibly diabetes mellitus.
Table scraps (in large amounts) Table scraps are not nutritionally balanced. They should never be more than 10% of the diet. Fat should be trimmed from meat; bones should not be fed.
Tobacco Contains nicotine, which affects the digestive and nervous systems. Can result in rapid heart beat, collapse, coma, and death.
Yeast dough Can expand and produce gas in the digestive system, causing pain and possible rupture of the stomach or intestines.
Xylitol (artificial sweetener) Can cause very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which can result in vomiting, weakness and collapse. In high doses can cause liver failure.

*We suggest that people considering a raw diet for their pet educate themselves thoroughly regarding the safe handling and preparation of raw ingredients, and the proper balance of nutrients required to maintain their pet's health.

I discovered a another reliable website that is very informative in all aspects, as well as this issue:

People Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Pets

Cat sits at table in front of plate
Chocolate, Macadamia nuts, avocados…these foods may sound delicious to you, but they’re actually quite dangerous for our animal companions. Our nutrition experts have put together a handy list of the top toxic people foods to avoid feeding your pet. As always, if you suspect your pet has eaten any of the following foods, please note the amount ingested and contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.

Chocolate, Coffee, Caffeine

These products all contain substances called methylxanthines, which are found in cacao seeds, the fruit of the plant used to make coffee and in the nuts of an extract used in some sodas. When ingested by pets, methylxanthines can cause vomiting and diarrhea, panting, excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures and even death. Note that darker chocolate is more dangerous than milk chocolate. White chocolate has the lowest level of methylxanthines, while baking chocolate contains the highest.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages and food products containing alcohol can cause vomiting, diarrhea, decreased coordination, central nervous system depression, difficulty breathing, tremors, abnormal blood acidity, coma and even death.

Avocado

The leaves, fruit, seeds and bark of avocados contain Persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Birds and rodents are especially sensitive to avocado poisoning, and can develop congestion, difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation around the heart. Some ingestions may even be fatal.

Macadamia Nuts

Macadamia nuts are commonly used in many cookies and candies. However, they can cause problems for your canine companion. These nuts have caused weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors and hyperthermia in dogs. Signs usually appear within 12 hours of ingestion and last approximately 12 to 48 hours.

Grapes & Raisins

Although the toxic substance within grapes and raisins is unknown, these fruits can cause kidney failure. In pets who already have certain health problems, signs may be more dramatic.

Yeast Dough

Yeast dough can rise and cause gas to accumulate in your pet’s digestive system. This can be painful and can cause the stomach or intestines to rupture. Because the risk diminishes after the dough is cooked and the yeast has fully risen, pets can have small bits of bread as treats. However, these treats should not constitute more than 5 percent to 10 percent of your pet’s daily caloric intake.

Raw/Undercooked Meat, Eggs and Bones

Raw meat and raw eggs can contain bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli that can be harmful to pets. In addition, raw eggs contain an enzyme called avidin that decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin), which can lead to skin and coat problems. Feeding your pet raw bones may seem like a natural and healthy option that might occur if your pet lived in the wild. However, this can be very dangerous for a domestic pet, who might choke on bones, or sustain a grave injury should the bone splinter and become lodged in or puncture your pet’s digestive tract.

Xylitol

Xylitol is used as a sweetener in many products, including gum, candy, baked goods and toothpaste. It can cause insulin release in most species, which can lead to liver failure. The increase in insulin leads to hypoglycemia (lowered sugar levels). Initial signs of toxicosis include vomiting, lethargy and loss of coordination. Signs can progress to recumbancy and seizures. Elevated liver enzymes and liver failure can be seen within a few days.

Onions, Garlic, Chives

These vegetables and herbs can cause gastrointestinal irritation and could lead to red blood cell damage. Although cats are more susceptible, dogs are also at risk if a large enough amount is consumed. Toxicity is normally diagnosed through history, clinical signs and microscopic confirmation of Heinz bodies. An occasional low dose, such as what might be found in pet foods or treats, likely will not cause a problem, but we recommend that you do NOT give your pets large quantities of these foods.

Milk

Because pets do not possess significant amounts of lactase (the enzyme that breaks down lactose in milk), milk and other milk-based products cause them diarrhea or other digestive upset.

Salt

Large amounts of salt can produce excessive thirst and urination, or even sodium ion poisoning in pets. Signs that your pet may have eaten too many salty foods include vomiting, diarrhea, depression, tremors, elevated body temperature, seizures and even death. In other words, keep those salty chips to yourself!

Samba or bitten by Mamba?

Fashionistas are also obsessed with this event. To watch sadness and grief breaks my heart for them L

Shocking beauty?

Beautiful NOT utilised here  L

At this time of age, I always believe that anything is possible. I expected Brazil to lose. To watch them annihilated is out of this world. Germany’s triumph will be remembered for the wrong reasons.

For better or worse, Germany’s fast5 performance is impressive! Check it out!

1)      There were 179 seconds between Germany's second and fourth goals.

2)      Germany were 5-0 up after 29 minutes - faster than any team in World Cup history.

3)      Germany are now the highest scorers in World Cup history with 223 goals, overtaking Brazil.

4)      Germany striker Miroslav Klose becomes World Cup history's record goalscorer with 16 goals in 23 games.

5)      Germany are the first team to score seven times in a World Cup semi-final.

I believe there are forces at work behind these obliterating events. I may be paranoid but write me your thoughts and enlighten us all!

I pity Neymar’s semi-final’s absence, but, hey! I admire a new World Cup Star named ‘Nemo’. Check him out because he is not too bad off field too ;-)

Bright future awaits you in this fun and exciting success!

Preparing a night out with team mates to celebrate success, yeah!

Viva Festival!

There are many trendy outdoor events in the summer from Soccer World Cup 2014, F1, Wireless to Glastonbury and countless more. Unfortunately, clouded by excitement, my fashionistas tend to overdress or under dress L Not to worry. With my expertise and research, I have compiled the almost perfect outdoor outfit. Once again, without fail, though after my long absence from fashion writing, I am confident my fashionistas can continue partying in style with tips listed below…Yea…;-)

1)  Light Coloured Top – Worried your light won’t stay bright? “Layer up: pop a colourful cape over a white top or tie a shirt around your waist to protect light coloured shorts. Scientifically, a lighter colour reflects more heat and absorbs more positive energy. These will fuel you and your mates for that all day activity.

2)  Bag – “A small handbag is fine: all you really need is SPF, hand sanitiser, lip balm, money and your phone. A long strap keeps it out of the way while dancing.”

3)  Shorts – “Invest in shorts like you would jeans: a great pair will be just as useful off the festival grounds. Refrain from tight or super-short for that comfort, mobility and decency without sacrificing style. Ensure that your shorts colour is darker than your top for that staining durability. If all fails, then dark coloured boyfriend jeans is the way forward

4)  Boots and Flats – Wedges outside VIP area is fine. Embrace the evergreen trend with the comfort and mobility of flats.

Hat and shades top these off, party on fashionistas…

After reading, which is the ideal festival outfit? Hmmm…

You don’t have to be Rosie to steal her style, where applicable, of course ;-)

Maleficent, magnificent!

Get ready to meet your match, Evil!

 It is payback time!

This movie is reminiscent of my life since I discovered my talent in fashion. More coincidental, one of the characters has a very close resemblance to mine and my present journey. Do you know which? That is of course, excluding the happy ending, YET!

Throughout Maleficent, I am transported from my present darkness to a world of hope in the form of sorcery in fantasy. Magic, fantasy and nature are all my favourites and inspirations in fashion. Maleficent’s costumes incorporates all these, hence one of my favourites ;-) The princess has very disappointing costumes. Maybe this is in line with the story. This is opposed to the prince. A hypnotic charm for all princesses… Awww… It is my favourite prince costume by far. All can be improved and the injection of COLOUR in appropriate scenes should have more impact.

It is a story of nature fighting back against the greed and tyranny of human. These are also some of my causes. I hope these humans will experience soon! The moral of the story is how one good turned evil. The one element that returned that one to good is a surprising and logical too J My favourite scene is the appearance of the dragon…burnnn…

Since I started reviewing movies on my website, this is my FAVOURITE one. Yes it is! This may be due to many personal connections I have with Maleficent and the happy ending that awaits me. To me, it is a MUST watch and worth every penny. Meet you at the happy end, Yippee!

Is this the princess? You be the costume judge.

Comfort, harmony and beauty for all, as Mother nature intended J

Natural rebels, FINALLY appears...

...and for all who do not appreciate, TAKE THAT, RoaRRR...
